Mick is an experienced leader, manager and consultant having worked successfully for 5 organisations for 19 years (10 at director level) and then setting up and directing his own management consultancy practice.
For nearly ten years Mick was a Director in two London boroughs managing thousands of staff and multi-million-pound capital and revenue budgets for which he was renowned for the quality and efficiency gains he delivered over many years. As the Managing Director and owner of a consultancy practice, he has worked across the UK and in countries such as India, South Africa, Albania and Bangladesh, delivering a vast array of change management, performance improvement and governance projects.
He is a specialist in performance management and organisational governance with a first degree in Development Studies; a Masters in Organisational Development and Social Responsibility and a post graduate Diploma in Management Studies.
For over 10 years he chaired two large voluntary organisations providing services for homeless people in South London (Circle Trust Limited) and, through The Fanon Trust, specialist, residential and day care services for African and Caribbean people with high mental health needs. He was main Board Director at the Association of Town Centre Management and, for nearly ten years, theChairman of Experience Travel – a boutique travel company operating in South Asia – taking it from a ‘start-up’ to a leading player in the specialist travel industry.
Mick is a prolific sportsman having spent many years marathon running, playing squash and tennis to a very high standard and is the (voluntary) president of a squash club where he is currently leading on the development of a new squash and fitness centre in south London.
With his co-directors, he is committed to ensuring New Place operate to high ethical and sustainability standards delivering quality outcomes to all development projects to meet the needs of local communities.
